A Link For Thee




Some absolutely fascinating posts on the origins of Qi Ye and Ba Ye as well as the Biajiajiang - anyone who reads this thing has surely noticed how images of them at festivals make up a huge portion of the photos I post...but I know very little about them. That is, until now.

Thanks for the compliment. Gorgeous photo, too. BTW, the guy looking at the camera is probably General Liu 柳將軍. His face paint is similar to Hsieh 謝將軍 and Wen Chai's 文差爺 'bat face', but slanted. One big eye and one small, twisted mouth.
And behind him, General Fan 范將軍? Fire on the cheeks and circles, but he usually has a black base, so maybe not.
I'm working on a formation/identification post.
